Harlem Children Society Internship Program Has Extended Its Application Deadline
Students who wish to apply must submit the first page (via fax at 646-225-6678) of the form no later than Thursday, May 21st.  The primary application need NOT arrive in advance of the student's interview.  The longer application can be accepted when the student appears to interview, along with the original copy of the short form.  See Ms. Zhang in Room 215 for appropriate forms. News from the Physical Education Department
Congratulations to the Boys Handball Team for finishing in first place with a 12-0 record. Playoff games will be announced this week.
 
The boys varsity tennis team defeated Wingate High school yesterday in a second round playoff game. The cardinals have advanced  to the PSAL division C Semifinals.

News for the Math Department

Congratulations to Gary Jean for being selected as the student from our school to receive the Rensselaer Award!
Congratulations to Manjinder Kandola for being selected to receive the George Washington University SEAS(School of Engineering and Applied Sciences) Medal for the junior with the highest average in mathematics and science!
The following students have been selected from the Junior Math Team to participate in the Greater Metropolitan New York Math Fair:
Andrew Lui – Project: Fibonacci Numbers and Finance
Sharon Yi – Project: Golden Ratio and its Relation to Beauty
Our Math Team has scored among the Top-Scoring Schools in the First Place Position in the American Scholastic Mathematics Association.

News from the Physical Education Department

       We would like to congratulate Brian McKenna on qualifying for the New York State Public High Schools Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) Swimming and Diving State Championships. This year’s event will be held at the Nassau County Aquatics Center in Eisenhower Park on Long Island. Please come out to cheer our champions in preliminaries on Friday, March 6, and in finals on Saturday, March 7.
       Brian finished in second place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 54.94 seconds. He also finished 3rd in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.50 seconds. Congratulations to Brian McKenna and Coach Astone!
       Also representing our school was Arthur Kojes who participated  in the  50-yd  freestyle and finished in the top 25 in NYC.
       Our team, consisting of Kenny Chen, Matthew Mackowerbrown, Wilson Wong, Arthur Kojes, Brian Mckenna, and Alex Mozeak finished in the top 15 in NYC.
