Schools are Closed TodayDue to snow weather conditions, all New York City public schools will be closed today, February 26, 2010. All after-school activities and PSAL events will also be cancelled. Administrative offices will remain open.

Congratulations to the boys swim team! They participated in The Novice Swim Championships held this past Sunday, January 31 at Flushing Meadows Aquatic Center. We also want to congratulate Arthur Kojes and Brian McKenna for participating 2009 PSAL A Division Boys Swimming and Diving Championships at the Flushing Meadows Aquatic Center, Sunday February 7, 2010. Arthur, the team's captain, finished top 5 in the city in the 50 yards freestyle. and top 10 in the event 100 yards breaststroke. Brian Mckenna finished first in the city in 50 yards freestyle, and second in the 100 yards backstroke. He qualified for the State Championship in Buffalo which will be held on 25th to 28th of February. He also qualified for Junior National Championship being held in Florida in March. Swimmers Max Benjamin and Jose Quinonez also participated in this championship on the 200 medley relay with Arthur and Brian, finishing in the top 11 from 21 teams.

Our very first Intel Science Talent Search Semifinalist!Congratulations to Manjinder Kandola for becoming a semifinalist in 2009-2010 Intel Science Talent Search, America's most prestigious pre-college science competition. Every year, the Intel STS recognizes 300 students and their schools as Semifinalists each year pulling from approximately 1,700 applicants to compete for $1.25 million in awards. News from the Physical Education DepartmentOur girls swim team participated in the 2009 PSAL B Division Girls Swim Meet. Congratulations to Carmen Chan for receiving a medal in each individual and relay event she participated. Our team placed 8th in 200-yard Medlley Relay and 6th in 400-yard Freestyle Relay. Lydia Chai participated in the 2009 PSAT A Division Girls Swimming and Diving Championships. She swam in both 500-freestyle and 100-breastroke and made it to the finals. Congratulations again to the Girls Varsity Bowling Teamon advancing to the second round of the playoffs. The team defeated Canarsie High Scholl yesterday and will compete with Lincoln High School on Wednesday. (Posted on Tuesday, November 17, 2009)
